Women in Eldership

River of Life is embarking on a historic journey to determine

if women may be nominated to be elders in our church.

May the Holy Spirit lead us all in this important decision. 

The Alliance Canada has given each local church a mandate to do their own study and give prayerful consideration to the roles of men and women in ministry. Many feel strongly about the topic, and hold different perspectives. Our goal as we approach this subject together is to do so with a gracious and humble attitude that honours God and honours one another. There are 2 main perspectives on this question – Complementarian and Egalitarian (also referred to as Mutuality). 

Below is a guide with resources from both sides. Please take the time to pray/read/study/research the topic to make a spirit filled and educated decision on the subject.

   This information session will run for a few hours in the morning and is open to all (church members, adherents, and guests) who want more information regarding Women in Eldership.

2. Congregational Vote | Sunday, January 26, 2025 | River of Life Alliance

   Members will vote on the matter of Women in Eldership.
